Recipients of a 2023 Aberdeenshire Grant

"1st Kinellar Scout Group are delighted that the Jo Walters Trust have awarded the group the funds to purchase tents, lanterns and Kelly Kettles. Due to our increase in numbers we were quite short of tents for the group. With the funds we have purchased 3 additional tents, which I am delighted to report that they have already been put to good use. The lanterns are perfect for the dark nights on the campsite, as we camp all months of the year!

The Kelly Kettles are a new piece of kit for 1st Kinellar, the only fuel needed is some kindling and a handful of twigs for the Kelly Kettle to boil water in just a few minutes. A great way for the Scouts to practice fire lighting using flint & steel to build and maintain a small fire to boil the water.
